SHOOTER Matt Reed has risen to fourth in the British pistol shooting rankings after good results at the British Pistol Championships.
Matt, 25, of Godshill competed in the air pistol competition, finishing 20th — achieving a PB score of 536 along the way. He then shot in the 50m pistol final, having qualified in fifth. In the final he managed to move up a spot to fourth before being knocked out, however along the way he defeated Commonwealth Games medal winner Mick Gault.
He also finished sixth in the NSRA long-range pistol competition for the Gallie Cup, and the score from this, combined with his 50m pistol result, earned him a spot in the Great Britain team for the Mayleigh Postal Shoot against the USA. It also moved him up the British rankings, from seventh to fourth.
Matt’s fiancee, Imogen Moss, 22, also of Godshill, also competed.
