A HORSE owned by an IW amateur racing enthusiast has won at Cheltenham.
Woodfleet, a six-year-old ex-Irish pointer, owned by Anna Reed, of Little Pan Farm, Newport, won the Hunter Chase at the famous racecourse.
Anna, who has owned horses for around 18 years, bought Woodfleet from Ascot about two years ago.
Having qualified to run by winning a race at Larkhill, near Salisbury, Woodfleet, ridden by amateur jockey Martin McIntyre, convincingly won the three-mile event at Cheltenham.
Anna said: “Having a winner at Cheltenham is every owner’s dream and I am still finding it hard to believe I have fulfilled that dream of a lifetime.”
