MOTORCYCLE TRIALS ROSS Haydon was the star man at the IW Motorcycle Club’s Spring Cup Trial.

He stormed the intermediate class, found the challenging course and spectacular steep hill of section eight to his liking, and took the win with only 24 marks lost.

Will West was second on 30, and Alan Stay was third, with 57.

Dave Barnes took the honours in the clubman class on 24, one mark behind was Vince Richardson with 25, and Ben Read was third with 31.

The big twinshock class saw Nick Symes a clear winner, ten ahead of runner up Jonno Read on 21. Stephen Wood was third on 59.

Andy Scott-Jackson won the novice class with 34, with Stuart Gummer close behind and second, with 38. Losing maximum marks on section eight cost Simon Cox who was third with 66.

A large number of riders decided to tackle the D sections and Mark Blackwell and Chris Cooper won the adult beginners’ class, with clean sheets, Wayne Brodie and Chris Lucas close behind with one mark and Jason Blackburn third on 10.

Harley Blackwell won the youth beginners’ class and Blake Lucas won the under-80cc class.
