PARKRUNNERS celebrated Ray Scovell's latest landmark with a special surprise on Saturday last week.
The 73-year-old took charge of the event as run director for the 250th time - and the runners at Appley were keen to draw attention to it.
They presented Ray with a caricature picture by Alan Rowe, and a night away for two at Ventnor's Royal Hotel.
Ray said: "It was quite emotional really and it was really nice of everyone.
"Of all the things I've done in my career, parkrun has to be the most amazing."
