NETBALLALMOST 20 teams took part in this year’s IW Schools’ netball Tournament, hosted by Ryde Junior School, earlier this month.
Teams were divided into two groups and two separate competitions, with Somerton and Ryde winning all their matches to qualify for the final of the A Section.
After Ryde beat Lake and Somerton beat Sandham in the semi-finals, Ryde took the a hotly-contested final.
In the B tournament semis Osborne and Ryde were victorious over Sandham and Nodehill respectively. Ryde went on to a narrow victory in the final.
Another highlight of Ryde Junior’s busy fortnight was a challenging mini-tour on the mainland.

The triumphant climax of the tour was the St. John’s Tournament at Southsea on March 6.
