The Labour Party locally said: "We have friends in high places." Tony Blair said in 1997: "Trust us".

Yes, trust them to make a mess. Trust them to raid your pensions and trust them to whack up your council tax by 8.4 per cent.

Council taxpayers in this borough are going to have to fork out more council tax for fewer services. The increase that the Labour council is proposing is three times the rate of inflation.

This is all due to start on April 1, when the Government starts raiding pension funds. Either the value of your pension falls or you pay more for your pension, but you will pay more in council tax for £8 million less in services.

Labour nationally and locally are proving that they are incapable of running the country and are incapable of running the borough.

Let's hope they don't start running parties in breweries.
