A RECORD-BREAKING Rolex Fastnet Race started in spectacular style at Cowes on Sunday.
A record 368 yachts entered the 608-nautical mile race to Plymouth, via the Fastnet Rock off the south-west coast of Ireland.
Huge crowds gathered along Cowes seafront for the start, and there was a large contingent of boats on the water following the competitors out to The Needles.
The race, organised by the Royal Ocean Racing Club, featured crews from nearly 30 nations, totalling around 4,000 competitors.
At 10am today (Monday), the leading boat, Rambler 88, had rounded the coast of Cornwall.
