Welling boss Tony Reynolds was relieved more than anything else with Saturday's 4-1 home win against Hednesford last Saturday.

The Wings had gone four games without a win and Reynolds now believes his team need just four more victories to guarantee their Dr Martens Premeir League status.

He said: "We just need to keep churning out the results and we have to win our home games. I'm relieved to get the three points. On reflection, we didn't play well but won 4-1. Last week we played well and lost it sums our season up.

"This has been a season about missed opportunities, not having the rub of the green. It seems all our luck has been used in the cup, but this is the bread and butter."

Gary Abbot netted the first goal in the 10th minute when he headed home from an Anthony Riviere corner.

Tommy Tyne doubled the lead with a great goal four minutes before the break and five minutes into the second period, the away side pulled one back with a penalty.

In the 81st minute, Abbot got his second and two minutes later Tyne added a fourth.

United travel to Stafford Rangers, who are one place above them in the league on Saturday. Welling will be without Mike Rutherford, who is suspended, and Reynolds does not think it will be easy.

He added: "It will be a difficult one. They're in the bottom eight and it's the last place you want to go is playing a title contender or bottom eight side. But we have got to be positive."
