ICE SKATINGWIGHT Jewels, the Island’s synchronised figure skating team selected last month to represent Great Britain in the Junior World Championships in Sweden, are in Gothenburg competing this weekend.
The competition runs today (Friday) and tomorrow, and anyone wanting to see the Jewels perform can do so via live video streaming, online at www.jwcc2010.se, from 4pm.
This week the team received £1,500 from Ventnor Rotary Club, to go towards their travel costs.
The club promised to help the team financially if they won the British Championships and, after February’s success, kept to their word.
A spokesperson for the club, said: "The enthusiasm of the team and everyone involved will surely result in them bringing home a trophy."
