SKELETON star Kimberley Murray has her sights set on winning gold for Great Britain — and she hopes the public will help her.
The former long jumper Murray, 28, originally from Ryde, swapped the sandpit for a sled, racing down an icy track headfirst at speeds of up to 90 mph.
She has been part of GB’s talent programme for the last two years and has just finished her first full competitive season, finishing fifth in the Europa Cup.
Her highlights included finishing third on a notoriously difficult track in Germany.
Murray has launched a crowdfunding appeal, in a bid to raise money to buy essential equipment, costing more than £1,000, to support her development.
Murray said: "I am more committed than ever to skeleton and with every race I will get closer to the Olympic Games in 2022.
"I am prepared to make the choices necessary to ensure I fulfil my potential.
"If you’d like to be a part of this journey please share my story or donate if you’re able."
