Paul Cameron, right, and Chris Morey were the top performing Islanders in the Stubbington 10km on Sunday.
ATHLETICS FOUR of the Island’s running and athletic clubs headed across The Solent and braved the snow to run the Stubbington 10km race on Sunday.
More than 40 Island club runners joined the field of 1,214 at Stubbington Green, near Portsmouth, to run the course in the challenging minus one and sleety conditions.
IW Road Runners’ Paul Cameron was the fastest for the Island, racing home in just over 33 minutes, taking the bronze position overall, swiftly followed by clubmate Chris Morey in 16th position.
Cherry Owens, of the West Wight Road Runners, was the first lady over 65 across the finishing line after 57.29.
All racers took home a commemorative mug from the day.
