Isle of Wight cricketer Danny Briggs showed his international class in England's final warm-up game before the Twenty20 World Cup today (Wednesday).
The 21-year-old spin bowler took 3-15, dismissing both Pakistani openers along the way, as England won a tight match by 15 runs.
He opened the bowling and hit five vital runs with the bat in a low-scoring encounter.
Briggs also played in Monday's warm up game with Australia, taking 1-39 as England again triumphed.
Both games were played in Colombo, the Sri Lankan capital, ahead of Friday's opening match against Afghanistan.
Yesterday (Tuesday) he was named in the England Performance Squad, effectively England Lions, for their tour of India this winter.
