DISABLED table tennis player Tom Johnson claimed three moremedals, including a gold, at the British Paralympic Table Tennis tournament.

Johnson won gold in the open singles event, beating Durham’sRyan Morton in the final at St Neots, Huntingdonshire.

The Island player, ranked fifth in England in his disabilitycategory, narrowly lost in the final of another singles competition, and was alosing finalist in the open doubles.

His latest haul means Johnson has won seven medals in threeparalympic tournaments this year.

Johnson is currently training for next year’s nationalchampionships, which will be held in April.

He is keen to secure sponsorship, to enable him to play forEngland in the future.

Meanwhile, Johnson is also preparing for an ultra marathonin May.

He aims to complete the 106km event in aid of Age UK.
