Taster success

DODGEBALL ISLANDERS had their first chance to try out dodgeball last weekend when the organiser of the new IW Dodgeball League held a taster session.

People could drop into Ryde Sports Centre at any time and give the sport, made famous by the comedy film Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, a go.

Mark Rouse, who is organising the new league, coached those who turned up. He said: "The taster session went really well, everyone who turned up really enjoyed themselves.

"We managed to teach everyone the rules and court layout and still have a good laugh."

There is a second taster session, again at Ryde Sports Centre, next Saturday, February 10, between 2pm and 4pm.
