GOLFER Matt Barnicoat made it a hat-trick of IW Golf Union (IWGU) titles after winning the Harry Gordon Memorial Trophy.
Following wins in the autumn meeting and matchplay events last year, Barnicoat, pictured, made it three out of three with victory in this scratch event at Cowes Golf Club, which formed part of the selection process for next year’s NatWest Island Games in Bermuda.
Island champion, Darren Masterton, had claimed the early clubhouse lead with a two over par 72.
That was cancelled out by Shanklin and Sandown golfer, George Foreman, who scored 71, before Barnicoat, playing in the second group, sunk two birdies in the final three holes to take the trophy.
The next IWGU event will be the Island Championships at Freshwater Bay, on June 23.
