SQUASH SQUASH stars from the IW Squash Academy produced a great performance to earn a draw away at Fair Oak, Eastleigh, in their latest league match.
Travelling without top player Katie Burke, who is now too old to compete, they welcomed Kyle Murchison to the team for his debut.
He had a nervous start, losing his first two games in quick succession but he recovered well to win the third game 11-9, and then went on to take the match 3-2.
Third seed Brandon Hanmore was outplayed and lost in straight games, while Connar Bates found the going tough in his match and, despite a resilient performance, also lost in straight games, although each one was close.
With everything resting on top seed Tim Ng’s shoulders, he played outstandingly to earn the overall draw, continuing his unbeaten season with a straight games win — 11-9, 13-11, 11-3 — to make it 2-2.
The IW play Winchester at Westridge on Sunday.
