MOTORSPORT THE usual contenders are already in the hunt for the IW Car Club’s autotest titles, after the first round at Ventnor Botanic Gardens.
Toby Allen and Dave Dutch were trading tenths of second for overall first and second place all day but this time, Toby came out on top with Dave only six tenths of a second behind him.
Martyn Cutler was third, with a chasing pack of Chris Greenen, Andrew Foster and Neil Glasbey not far behind.
There were also many class battles going on as well.
There were no entries in class one but in class two, Dean Long dominated followed by Daryl Turner with Daniel Kozakowycz in third.
Class three was hotly contested, with Dave Dutch in his Mini pickup dominating. Greenen was chasing hard but could not get anywhere near the pace of Dave, with David Goodwin third.
Toby was victorious in class four, finishing over a second ahead of Cutler. There were 15 in this class, the biggest of the day.
There were double the entries from last year in class five with John Dutch in his Mini special once again winning. Dan Morgan was hot on his heels in second, with Matthew Price third.
The top woman driver was Vicky Cox, with Linda Burt second and Jill Williams third.
