MOTOR RACING IW MOTOR racing star Tom Gladdis has a chance to show his skills in front of the world’s best this weekend — as he races immediately before the Formula 1 Indian Grand Prix in Delhi.

Tom, 21, of Cowes, has been signed up for the MRF Challenge in India, a four-round, 11-race championship with a $120,000 prize pot.

And the challenge starts at the Buddh International Circuit tomorrow (Saturday), with races going on between F1 qualifying and the main event.

The second round is again held in Delhi before the competition moves to the Madras Motor Racing Track in Chennai, running until Feburary.

Tom, who only returned to racing last month, impressing in the Brands Hatch round of the Dunlop Radical UK Cup, is excited about the challenge.

He said: "I am really looking forward to it. I’ve never been to India so I don’t know really what to expect but I want to use the championship to regain my skills in motor racing and see where I am against other drivers."

When Tom finishes his Indian adventure, more options await him.

As well as interest from the GP3 circuit, Tom has also been offered a chance to be a works driver for Radical in the SR8 European Championship next year, though he will decide what to do with these offers later.
