KICKBOXING

THREE Island youngsters made a dream debut in kickboxing, reaching the podium at their first attempt.

George Borrett, Aaron McHugh and Ethan Frampton, representing the Panthers Kickboxing group, which his based at TJ’s Gym, Lake, went to the Southampton Open Kickboxing Championships at St Mary’s Leisure Centre and fought extremely well to gain their results.

Ethan won his semi-contact competition (youth section), despite taking on lads much bigger than him, and then came second in the light continuous kickboxing competition.

Meanwhile, George and Aaron went head to head in the final of the Intermediate Kickboxing tournament, with George beating Aaron to glory in a close contest.

George went on to come second in the semi-contact intermediate competition, with Aaron joint third.
