ALMOST 30 members of Wight Tri enjoyed a gap in the bad weather to take on the latest of the club’s winter series duathlon events in East Cowes.

The event comprised either a short (1.7 miles) or long (three miles) run, and a six, 12 or 18-mile bike leg in a nominated time format.

The winner was Perry Fisher, in 1.26.31, only six seconds outside his nominated time.

Adam Younger was second in 1.47.00 (36 seconds out) and third was Nick Curwood in 1.09.21 (39 seconds out).

Two new club members were welcomed to try their first taste of multi-sport events.

Fastest overall on the long course was Daron Perkins in 1.35.03, with new member Simon Riley second in 1.37.37.

For the women, Sarah Woods was fastest, completing the long run and 12-mile bike leg in 1.27.15.

Full results, and information about the club’s forthcoming events, can be found at www.wighttri.org.uk
