Westridge take the spoils

Friday, July 11, 2014 - 11:50

GOLF
MEMBERS of Freshwater Bay Golf Club gave up their clubs to ball-spot last weekend, as breezy conditions and tough terrain tested the teams taking part in the club’s ladies’ open.
After a very close bowmaker stableford, the eventual winners were Westridge, followed by Osborne, only one point behind.
Captain Joan Martin thanked those who had made the day a success, in particular Dot Porter, for her flower arrangements.
As there wasn’t a winner in the 2’s competition, the money was added to the raffle takings for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice, which pushed the overall total to more than £200.
