Wet weather no deterrent

GOLF

MORE than 20 golfers braved the wind and rain to play Westridge Golf Club’s Ernie Moore Trophy.

The nine-hole medal contest had a scratch and handicap title up for grabs, and winning the scratch was Bob Singh-Bansi, with Malcolm Prouten winning the handicap.

Around £300 was also raised on the day and this, together with money raised at the club’s Pro-Am event earlier in the year, around £500, will go to the Earl Mountbatten Hospice.

Following the golf, the annual Christmas draw took place, with Peter Dixey winning the main prize, a year’s membership.
