Enfield boss Gary Calder has been busy casting his eye over his first team squad with three friendlies in quick succession.

Last Monday Welling were the opponents and it was a single goal scored by Busby Finch six minutes into the second half that sealed the victory. He pounced on a good cross from Joe Odegbami.

Team: Hall (Nichols 62), Protheroe (Holding 75), Annon, Terry (Fitzgerald 45), Adams, Jones, Morgan (Alleyne 45), Penn, Odegbami, Finch, Hall (Morris 59).

A day later Billericay brought almost their entire first team squad to play against an Enfield side consisting almost entirely of youth team players and trialists.

However, the home side came out clear winners with two goals from Dunwell and one each from youth team stars Danny Clarke and Mark Bentley.

Billericay included ex-Enfield players Martin St. Hilaire and Mark Brewer in their line-up.

Enfield thought they had taken an early lead against Peterborough on Thursday evening when a Steve McGrath header was ruled out for offside. Unfortunately, no one was able to break the deadlock in what was nevertheless an interesting game.

Goalkeepers had the upper hand, with Peterborough's Danish acquisition saving well from the luckless Odegbami and Pape foiling ex Enfield player Juliano Grazioli.

Good combination play was a feature of Enfield's performance, with new players Ricky Sullivan (ex Aylesbury) and Richard Thompson (ex Carshalton) showing up well.

After the break, other newcomers Richard Thomas from Bishop's Stortford, Sammy Cooper from Grays and Courtney Naylor from Dagenhan all featured.

Team: Pape, Annon, Adams (Holding 45), Risley (Thomas 57), Terry, Bentley (Odegbami), Deadman, Sullivan, Dunwell (Finch 57), Naylor (Alleyne 82), Cooper.

q Enfield's hard man Gary Fitzgerald seems to be on his way out of Southbury Road as he turned out for Hendon in a friendly on Wednesday and also did not feature at all against Peterborough.
