Xterra test

Friday, August 29, 2014 - 12:30

TRIATHLETE Adam Younger, pictured above, continued his 50th birthday celebrations by completing one of the toughest off-road events in the UK, the Xterra Championship, in Surrey.
Adam took on a 1,500m lake swim, a 30km off-road bike leg and a 10km run, all in 3.30.29.
He had a good swim but a puncture on the bike leg set him back somewhat. An excellent run split of 51.47 clawed back some of the time he had lost and he eventually finished 200th overall.
"The standard was high and I probably lost around 20 places because of the bike troubles," he said. "But I really enjoyed it and it was great to do a big event."
