I was disappointed to see the News Shopper sink to the standard of misreporting achieved by some of the lesser national papers in its front page article about the unfortunate young man who was shot in the face.
In the article you refer to the airgun (which can be illegally converted to a firearm) accounting for 50% of all guns recovered at crime scenes in Britain.
The airgun in question actually accounts for 5% of the guns recovered and, since the problem was highlighted, the manufacturer has voluntarily withdrawn it from sale in the UK.
