E's chairman Tony Lazarou is making renewed attempts to bring the troubled club back where it belongs in Enfield.

But after almost two-and-a-half years of being homeless, one asks how much longer the club can survive.

Mr Lazarou continues to bankroll the club and is determined to succeed in his quest for a new home in the borough.

His role in the scandalous sale of Southbury Road has been well documented and he has since held his hands up. Unlike Enfield Council.

The club and council are now involved in a bitter legal battle which will only serve to line the pockets of the lawyers funds which neither party can afford.

The council's task force has failed point blank to solve the situation and is taking the line that it will not talk to the club while legal proceedings are continuing.

It is about time the town hall chiefs kept their side of the bargain and produced a viable site for the club.

After all, it would be better late than never. And remember it is an election year.
