The cast of Best of the West End.
STAGE REVIEW show-stopping West End songs from musicals such as Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera have been delighting audiences at Shanklin Theatre on Thursday evenings.
The professional IW cast of Best of the West End deserves full credit for vocals, harmonies and polished dance routines, which sparked rapturous applause during the song-packed two-hour show.
The first-class entertainment from the 11 talented cast includes numbers from recent West End shows, such as Jersey Boys and Mary Poppins, alongside classics from Oklahoma and My Fair Lady, and familiar tunes from family favourites, Grease and Oliver!.
The show flowed smoothly from one section to another and was enhanced by beautifully lit sets, impressive costumes and an excellent band.
Best of the West End had something for everybody and the energy of the cast added to the upbeat atmosphere.
Standing ovations for all the solo performances, including Memory from Cats and Somewhere from West Side Story, were well deserved by the cast, whose professional credits included appearances in 42nd Street, Bollywood movies and on BBC Radio 2.
