Business Focus is working with the council to promote bed and breakfast in the borough and to put a directory together of existing hotels, guest houses and bed and breakfast establishments.
Its research found there were already 52 establishments in the borough.
Business Focus also sought to identify people interested in starting a bed and breakfast concern and received 26 enquiries.
It is now planning to run a number of workshops to encourage and help people start businesses as well as supporting existing enterprises.
