To make the top half of the table is pleasing but it is also frustrating.

Our run of form came far too late to make any difference at all in terms of promotion.

We made up a lot of ground and a lot of points that we had lost early on to teams at the top of the league but it was too much to ask.

It was still nice to show we can do and now we can't wait for next season. There is a mood of expectancy around the club bit we have to realise it's over now.

We have to stop until pre-season and then start afresh then.

I am hoping that we can stay in the top six of the Ryman League division one for the whole of next season. I want us to have a good start and then stay there until it counts.

Although we have only just started winning there has been no real turning point this year. Myself and my assistants have been saying the same thing throughout so maybe the players just started listening.

Bringing in Craig Tucker and Martin Chadwick made a big difference because they are two very consistent players who have a lot of experience and do their job.

But it only took a couple of wins to give us a bit of confidence and that's been what's carrying us on recently.

Of course it can happen the other way too and it did to us earlier in the season. That's why we were 12 to 15 points behind people.

I don't really understand that. We were always playing fairly well but then kept pressing the self destruct button.

We took points off all the top sides but shot ourselves in the foot when we kept losing against those at the bottom.

We need to start winning home games next year too because far too many have been lost here this season.

It is important that we make it difficult for teams that come here.

We need to be giving them a battle and make them earn the points.

In the past we have been controlling games and then taking our foot off the pedal after the first half-hour and that has got to stop.
