SINIEZ and Magic Octagon will go through to the Live/Wired final later this month after impressing judges at the second live heat on Wednesday.
On a night that showed off some of the best original talent on the Island, they were selected by a panel of judges made-up of IW Music’s Simon Rodley, The Studio’s Max Brennan and Thom Gannaway and Claydon Connor, of Platform One.
It was a difficult choice, according to the judges, who also saw sets from acoustic siblings Me and My Sister, electro-80s wizard Uberlaser and explosive metal band Kids Will Be Skeletons.
Siniez and Magic Octagon will go head-to-head with the winners of the first live heat, Goodbye Stereo and Shanklin Freak Show.
The eventual winners will find themselves playing on the Bandstand at the IW Festival this June.
They will also win a recording session at Platform One’s Newport studios.
The competition has been organised by the CP and independent music college Platform One.
