Cox-Newton wedding
A HUSKY dog showed its pedigree as a bridesmaid for the wedding of John Owen Cox and Leslie Anne Newton at St Saviour-on-the-Cliff Church, Shanklin.

The bridegroom, who runs his own roofing firm, is the son of Mr Graham Cox, of Savoy Court, Shanklin, and Mrs Carol Squires, of Oaklyn Gardens, Shanklin.

The bride, who runs her own hairdressing salon, is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Philip Newton, of Upper Hyde Lane, Shanklin.

The bride wore a flamenco-style gown with a jewel-encrusted lace bodice and a full organza waterfall skirt. She carried a bouquet of gypsophila and ivory and cream roses.

She was attended by a dozen bridesmaids, which included Kudoo the husky.

The bridesmaids (except for Kudoo) wore a rainbow of satin, pastel-coloured A-line, princess sweetheart, floor-length dresses with an ivory sash. They included Rachel Newton (bride’s sister), Georgia Bobbi, Eleanor and Frances Newton (bride’s nieces).

Andy Haslin and Mark Pike shared the role of best man.

Robert and Richie Newton (bride’s brothers) and Jamie Cox (bridegroom’s brother) acted as ushers.

Father John Davies officiated.
