A COUPLE who met at the County Press, Ross Findon and Amanda Rice, were married at Bembridge Sailing Club, where the band they saw on their first date performed at the reception.
The bridegroom, a reporter, is the son of Mr and Mrs Jack Findon, of Hops Lane, Halifax.
The bride, a website co-ordinator, is the daughter of Mrs Claire Rice, of Gunville Road, Carisbrooke, and the late Mr David Rice.
The bride wore a slimline, princess-cut, ivory silk, full-length dress with sweetheart neckline and beaded lace, and an elbow-length veil with scalloped, crystal edge.
She carried a hand-tied bouquet of lisianthus and freesia.
The bride was given away by her mother.
She was attended by bridesmaid Lucy Rice (bride’s sister), who wore a knee-length, lavender strapless satin dress and carried a bouquet of ivory roses, lisianthus, freesia and eucalyptus.
Flowergirls were Miriam Murphy, ten, Hannah Murphy, five, and Isobel Findon, two, (bridegroom’s nieces), who wore ivory dresses with satin sashes and net overlay on the skirts. They carried bouquets of ivory roses, lisianthus, freesia and eucalyptus.
The best man was Gavin Foster, Matthew Rice (bride’s brother) was an usher and registrar Janice Lord officiated.
The wedding and reception were held at Bembridge Sailing Club and the Lonesome Valley Boys performed.
The couple honeymooned in America, visiting Las Vegas, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
