A 16-year engagement finally came to an end when Paul Benjamin Gray and Kimberley Jane Longworth were married at Albert Cottage, East Cowes.
The bridegroom, an electrician, is the son of Mr and Mrs Brian Clapham, of Medeway, Lake. The bride, a full-time mother, is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Eric Longworth, of Woodlands Crescent, Wootton.
The bride wore an ivory taffeta ball gown-style dress, with a dropped waist and crystal embellishment to the bodice and a long train, with a tiara and three-tiered veil with diamante embellishment. She carried a teardrop bouquet of blue dendrobium orchids, ivory lillies and roses with beargrass.
She was attended by Alexandria Longworth (bride’s sister) and Kelly Clapham (bridegroom’s sister), who wore turquoise chiffon full-length dresses with sweetheart neckline and carried posies containing ivory roses. Abigail Clapham (bridegroom’s niece) also attended and she wore an ivory, pleated organza dress.
Ethan Gray (couple’s son) was page boy and he wore grey pinstripe trousers, white shirt, ivory waistcoat and turquoise tie.
Ian Fairweather and Simon Crew, both recently returned from tours of duty in Afghanistan, wore full military uniform for their roles as best men, while Connor Gray (bridegroom’s nephew), acted as usher.
The reception was held at Albert Cottage and the couple will honeymoon next year.
