Halliday-Piner wedding
A COUPLE who met while studying at the University of Reading, Robert Halliday and Louise Piner, were married at St Melor’s Church, Linkin-horne, Cornwall.

The bridegroom, a farmer and chartered surveyor, is the son of Mr and Mrs Roger Halliday, of Linkinhorne, Cornwall.

The bride, a primary school teacher, is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Michael Piner, of Medina Avenue, Newport.

The bride wore an ivory satin strapless dress, embellished with Swarovski crystals and pearls, and a tiara with Swarovski crystals and a ribbon-trimmed veil.

She carried a bouquet of pink and ivory roses.

She was attended by Sarah Piner (bride’s sister), Victoria and Catherine Halliday (bridegroom’s sisters) and Caroline Legg, who wore sage-green satin dresses and carried ivory roses.

Jonathan Weaving was best man and David Hitching, David Small and Alec Williamson acted as ushers.

The Rev Marilyn Elliott officiated.

After transporting some guests from the church in a tractor, a reception was held in a barn at the bridegroom’s parents’ farm, followed by a honeymoon in Menorca, Spain.
