HIGH school sweethearts, Michael John Hillman and Helen Elizabeth Bishop, were married at Newport Methodist Church.
The bridegroom, a risk management specialist, is the son of Mr and Mrs Christopher Hillman, of Albany Road, Newport. The bride, an administrative assistant at the National Portrait Gallery, is the daughter of Dr Michael Bishop, of High Street, Newport, and Mrs Ann Bishop, of Clarence Road, Newport.
The bride wore a strapless ivory dress with gathered front and beaded detail and a pearl and crystal head dress.
She carried a bouquet of yellow and ivory roses and freesia.
She was attended by Dave Morrison, a close friend of the couple.
Jonathan Hillman (bridegroom’s brother) was best man and Martyn Hillman (bridegroom’s brother) and David Bishop (bride’s brother) were ushers.
The Rev Philip Simpkins officiated.
A reception was held at Landguard Manor, Shanklin, followed by a honeymoon in Vancouver Island.
