A COUPLE who met as students at Medina High School, John Langborne and Penny Smith, were married at St Edmund’s Church, Wootton.
The bridegroom, an engineering manager, is the son of Mr Derek Langborne, of Charfield, Gloucestershire, and Mrs Linda Bowler, of Palmers Road, Wootton.
The bride, a veterinary nurse, is the daughter of Dr and Mrs John Smith, of Ashlake Copse Road, Fishbourne.
The bride wore an ivory dress, embroidered with metallic accents, crystal beading and sequins. She carried a bouquet of cream, gold and pink peonies and roses.
She was attended by Sarah Langborne (bridegroom’s sister), Laura Smith (bride’s sister) and Jane Mosley, who wore strapless champagne-coloured dresses.
David Langborne (bridegroom’s brother) was best man and Ian Mawdsley, Steven Cotton and Kevin Newman were ushers.
The Rev Kath Abbott officiated.
Following a reception at Osborne House, the couple, who will live in Selsey, West Sussex, enjoyed a honeymoon road trip across the USA.
