A COUPLE who met at the school where they are teachers, Kieran Leahy and Sarah Elizabeth Bland, were married at St Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Church, Cowes.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr and Mrs Tadhg Leahy, of Boherbue, County Cork, the Republic of Ireland. The bride is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Richard Bland, of Grove Road, Sandown.
The bride wore a floor-length ivory organza silk gown, with ruched bodice, sweetheart neckline and chiffon-capped sleeves and mid-length ivory veil with crystal droplets. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of claret red gerberas.
She was attended by bridesmaids Lucy Powell, Joey Collins, Jo Richardson and Linzi Lloyd, who wore claret red, knee-length, chiffon halterneck dresses. Flower girls were Penny Collins and Eva-Lilly Bland (bride’s niece), who wore ivory dresses with satin waistband with flower design detail and flower petals in a netted skirt.
Best men were Bryan Leahy (bridegroom’s brother) and Tom Casey. Jonathan Bland (bride’s brother) and David Durbridge acted as ushers.
Father Michael Purbrick officiated
A reception was held at Gurnard Pines, Gurnard. A honeymoon on the Gower Peninsula, Wales, followed.
