McNerny-Blackburn wedding
A COUPLE who met when the bride was collecting funds to take part in a charity skydive, Steven James McNerny and Jaye Elizabeth Blackburn, were married at Albert Cottage, East Cowes.

The bridegroom, a removals operative, is the son of Mr and Mrs William James McNerny, of Windmill Close, Haylands, Ryde.

The bride, who was driven to her wedding in a 1930s Ford and is a maintenance assistant, is the daughter of Jan Ward, of Worsley Road, Newport, and the late Barry Blackburn.

She wore an ivory silk dupion fitted gown, with ruched detail and a laced bodice and a mermaid shaped train.

Her short veil was encrusted with diamantes and she carried a bouquet of roses, tulips and friesias in pink and ivory.

She was attended by Kerrie Blackburn (bride’s sister) Corrina Morris and Lucy Cass, who all wore knee-length teal satin dresses and carried bouquets of ivory gerbera and daisies.

Flowergirls were Hayden Standrod, three, (bridegroom’s niece) and Apryl Blackburn, two, (bride’s niece), who wore cream flower girl dresses, with lace overlay and teal and blue flower headbands.

Russ Newnham was best man and Jevron Joshua was usher.

Registrar Helen Barnard officiated. A reception was held at Albert Cottage, followed by a honeymoon in The Maldives.
