A COUPLE who first met at the former Goldie’s nightclub in Ryde, Private Gareth Jonathan Owen and Emily Claire Lambert, were married at St Helen church in St Helens.
The bridegroom, a soldier with the Royal Logistic Corps, is the son of Suzanne Carrodus, of St Jervis Road, Stamshaw, Portsmouth.
The bride, a carer, is the daughter of Michael James Lambert, of West Street, Ryde, and Lorraine Lambert, of Swanmore Road, Ryde.
The bride wore a full-length, eternity dress in ivory with a train and a rose feature on the bodice, which was decorated with pearls and diamante. She also wore an ivory veil with a diamante tiara and carried a bouquet of ivory roses and lisianthus with a diamante and purple ribbon.
She was attended by Kerry Chahboun (bride’s sister), Amy Lambert (bride’s twin sister) and Jade Sexton (bridegroom’s sister). They all wore purple satin dresses decorated with diamantes on the side.
She was also attended by seven-year-old Danielle Newham (bridegroom’s sister), Zahra Chahboun, six, (bride’s neice) and Tayah-Louise Owen, four, (bride’s daughter). The girls all wore ivory satin dresses with purple sashes. All attendants carried bouquets of ivory and purple roses.
Alfie Hayles, five, (bride’s nephew) and River Owen, two, (bride’s son) were pageboys.
Christopher Manhart acted as best man and Tariq Chahboun (bride’s nephew) acted as usher.
The Rev Mary Strange officiated.
A reception was held at St Helen’s Community Centre, followed by a honeymoon at Sorrento Lodge, Ryde.
