A COUPLE who met while the bridegroom was working in Myanmar, Matthew Roper and Tun (Pinky) Nan Ohnmar were accompanied by their baby son, Charlie, at their wedding at the IW Register Office, Newport.
The bridegroom, head of subsurface and geological operations at Total, is the son of Alan Roper, of Orchard Way, Shorwell, and Sue Skyrme, of Youngwoods Way, Alverstone Garden Village.
The bride, an events organiser, is the daughter of Sai Kwan Main and Nang Lao Kham, of Tuanggyi, Myanmar.
The bride wore a full-length white dress with a gathered bodice, ruffled sleeves and a simple flower headband. She carried a bouquet of white tulips and hyacinths, with pussy willow.
She was attended by her sister, Nan (Nora) Ei Ei Khaing who had travelled with their mother from Myanmar. The bride’s father gave his wishes via video link.
The best man was Stefan Berry.
Registrars Sam Jenner and Angela Ventress officiated.
The reception was held at the Priory Bay Hotel, Seaview.
The couple will live in Aberdeen.
