Stratton-Platt wedding
A COUPLE who met while working for the Island’s ambulance service, Andrew Paul Stratton and Victoria Ann Cheska Platt, were married at an ice chapel in Lapland that has to be rebuilt every year.

The bridegroom, a motorcycle paramedic, is the son of Mr and Mrs Anthony Stratton, of Wootton. The bride, a paramedic in central London, is the daughter of Mr Barry Platt, of Shanklin, and Mrs Gillian Platt, of Sandown.

The bride wore a one-piece strapless, full A-line gown with a lace-up closure. It featured cascading bustles draped asymmetrically over an embellished lace skirt.

She wore a head-dress made of a sparkling tiara and a long sparkling veil and carried a bouquet of white tulips.

She was attended by Emily Stratton (groom’s daughter), and 'Jak’ Fairhurst, Eleanor Van Gils and Laura Frearson (best friends).

The attendants wore full length Bella satin dresses with hand-beaded straps and empire waist trim.

They wore midnight blue faux full-length fur cloaks trimmed in white and carried bouquets of white tulips.

Matty Stratton (bride-groom’s son) was best man.

A Finnish magistrate officiated.

The reception was held at the Tuikku mountain rest-aurant on top of the Levi fell and will be followed by a luxury honeymoon in Africa.
