A COUPLE who met in a nightclub, Ian Woodford and Victoria Thorn were married at Quay Street Methodist Church, Newport.

The bridegroom, a HGV driver, is the son of Mr David Woodford, of Blackgang Road, Niton, and the late Mrs Mary Woodford.

The bride, a retail assistant, is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Stephen Thorn, of Fieldfare Road, Newport.

The bride wore a strapless, princess-line gown in Italian satine organza and a silver and crystal tiara. She carried a bouquet of ivory roses and freesia with green lisianthus.

She was attended by Evie Woodford (couple’s daughter), who wore an ivory satin and organza dress, and Charlotte Woodford (bridegroom’s daughter), who wore a moss satin dress. Both carried smaller versions of the bride’s bouquet.

The page boy was Bobby Woodford (couple’s son), who wore a suit with an ivory and silver waistcoat and a silver tie.

Fred Woodford was best man, and Ben Smith, Connor Smith and Matt Verstraeten were ushers.

The Rev Philip Simpkins officiated.

Following a reception at Rookley Country Park, the couple enjoyed a short honeymoon at Corfe Castle.
