Young & Kweya

JAMES Michael Young, who was born and grew up on the Island, married Janet Aber Kweya at Pinner Parish Church, Middlesex.
The bridegroom, a web developer, is the son of Mr and Mrs Roger Young, of Ward Avenue, Cowes. The bride, a teacher, is the daughter of Mrs Winifred Kweya, of Palmers Green, Enfield, London, and the late Dr James Kweya.
The bride wore a cream full-length dress embroidered with pearls, with lace edging and a long train and matching bolero.
She also wore a long veil with lace edging which her mother-in-law had worn at her own wedding, secured by a diamante and pearl tiara.
She carried a bouquet of cream roses with a purple hibiscus flower in the middle.
She was given away by her mother, and was attended by bridesmaids Christine Kweya (bride’s sister), Simona and Chantelle Kweya (bride’s nieces) and pageboy Tyrone Kweya (bride’s nephew).
Christine wore a full-length purple dress, and Simona and Chantelle Kweya wore knee-length purple dresses, and all carried a bouquet of cream carnations. Tyrone wore a grey suit waistcoat with matching trousers and a lilac shirt.
The bridegroom’s father was best man, with David and John Kweya (bride’s brothers) acting as ushers.
Assistant curate Kulne Ayodeji officiated.
A reception was held at Bushey Hall Golf Club, Hertfordshire.
The couple honeymooned in a tree house in Honiton, Devon, before returning to live in Pinner, Middlesex.
