THE Reverend Roberta Rominger is the speaker at the Women's World Day of Prayer service at Gold Hill Baptist Church next Friday. This year the service, which starts at 10.30am, has been prepared by the women of Romania.

THE Place of Maori Culture in New Zealand Society is the subject of Francis Simons talk to the Chalfonts and Gerrards Cross History Society this evening. The group will meet at the Memorial Centre at 8pm.

THE Community Association's latest club, the Asian Women's Club, meets at the Memorial Centre next Wednesday evening. In a few months, the club has attracted a strong membership and Sabra Sharma on 01753 892427 has details of its activities.

RAILWAYS of the Chilterns From the Days of Steam is the subject of a Saturday school being run by the Chalfont St Peter & Gerrards Cross branch of the WEA on Saturday, March 9 at the Memorial Centre. NEWCOMERS to Gerrards Cross and the surrounding districts are being offered the opportunity of getting together, having a cup of tea and getting to make friends. From next week, Kay is bringing newcomers together on Tuesday afternoons between 2pm and 3pm at St Andrews Church hall in Packhorse Road during school term times.
