HEAD START: Thousands of youngsters like Nicholas Hooper, 10, who fancy themselves as the next David Beckham and flocked to Swanley hoping to be selected to represent England in an international five-a-side competition. Coming from as far afield as Essex, more than 30 boys and girls aged between 10 and 12 displayed their footballing prowess to former Arsenal, Crystal Palace and England player, Kenny Samson, who is now an FA coach. They hoped to get through to the next round, to finally be one of the lucky 20 boys and girls who would play for England in the Fox Kids Cup in Barcelona later this year. Luke Freeman, 10, from New Ash Green, who attends Our Lady of Heartley Primary School, won the boys' selection. Faye Baker, 12, from Swanscombe, who is a pupil at Wilmington Girls' School, went through to the next girls' stage, while 12-year-old Harry Bentley from Eltham was selected as the best goalkeeper. All three will go onto the next stage.lh0118/4
