A total of seven newly-qualified teachers at Borehamwood's Hertswood School have won awards for successfully completing a year's induction programme, run by Hertfordshire County Council and the University of Hertfordshire.
Yewande Ajayi, Antonio Aschettino, Anita Chakraborty, Jagminderdeep Dhaliwal, Nicola Howells, Maria Ibanez and Kerry Richards joined 29 other newly-qualified Hertfordshire teachers, to receive certificates, which were recently presented by Ray Shostak, the council's director of children, schools and families, and Mary Read, the university's head of education, at County Hall in Hertford.
The teachers' performances were praised by an external examiner, and Mr Shostak added: "This is the first time we have run this course and it has been extremely successful.
"Students have told us that it builds on the work of the school's induction process and helps them develop their skills."
