Graffiti, a vicious plague which appals the eye, continues to increase; is there any sighted resident in Barnet who does not lament such ever-intrusive vandalism?

In Barnet Council's leaflet on graffiti, we are assured that the neighbourhood management service is 'getting it sorted!

Where is this happening? Certainly not in Finchley and probably nowhere else in the borough, in which private property is now being targeted by spraycan criminals, as well as business premises.

Barnet Council wants input from council tax payers as to how to distribute its 2002-3 budget; councillors meet to assign monies on March 5.

We urge them not only to allocate significantly more finance specifically for graffiti removal but also to change council policy so that quick and efficient graffiti removal is a free service to all. Only by these measures will Barnet Council convince us that in fact, it is 'getting it sorted'.
