Shorwell, Isle Of Wight, PO30 3JL

Oak Cottage Believed to originate from the 1600's, the cottage was once believed to have been occupied by J.B.Priestley's daughter and is listed, grade II. Having been extended over time the property retains a wide array of characterful period features including exposed beams and some fine fireplaces. A gated access provides parking for a number of cars and there are a range of useful outbuildings and a garden extending down to a small stream.

Shorwell is set on the southern slopes of rolling downland, within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with excellent walks through the surrounding countryside, with some stunning views over the Island's southern coast and The English Channel. The village benefits from having a post office, shop, church and a well-regarded pub. A wider range of facilities are available in nearby Brighstone including village shops, doctors surgery and primary school. Newport, with a wider range of shops including Marks and Spencer is easily accessed from the village, as is the south coast of the Island with some excellent beaches such as Compton.
