TWO Isle of Wight athletes will compete for Great Britain in the IAAF World Championships in London, which start tonight (Friday).
Discus thrower Nick Percy is in action tonight at 8.45pm, while runner Jess Martin is taking part in tomorrow's women's 10,000m final at 8.10pm.
Both athletes were members of the Isle of Wight Athletics Club.
Coach Ray Scovell said: "They are outstanding athletes.
"To compete in the World Championships is a fantastic achievement and reward for all their hard work."
The competition will welcome athletes from 203 countries, with a record 2,038 competitors.
It runs until August 13.
