THE Isle of Wight’s U18 beach soccer team — heading to the World Youth Cup in Portugal later this month — were unlucky not to progress past the group stage at the Super Cup competitions for men and women at Appley on Saturday.

Portsmouth did the double by winning the Super Cups, with the Isle of Wight side losing 5-4 to English champions, Arsenal, in the group phase.
Sandown Sociedad, previous winners, failed to qualify from the group stage after losing to Arsenal on penalties.
